I have some pretty cute kiddos

Isn't this baby the cutest thing you have ever seen...
The other day this cute little baby discovered the art of taking her hat off.
Well that didn't fly here in CNY. It is cold and little baby heads need to be covered...all the time.
So I thought, "why don't I just make a smaller version of my 'little green riding hood'?".

So I did...
Oh you like it do you?
Then you should just enter my giveaway for a chance to win one of your own...Look down!

Coop Dog decided to try out his lovely cape last night while listening to some country music?!

I have also been busy making Kylie a dress with butterflies on it for her birthday party.
I found this super cute vintage-like fabric and had to use it.
I still need to hem it and I added a cute little flower to it but here is the rough draft.

and after busying myself with many many crafts today, I was rewarded with a delivery from my favorite new CDing store Kelly's Closet
(oh and if you haven't already...click on that fluff friday giveaway for a chance to win some free CD's)
I just love FuzziBunz...really I do. What am I going to do when I am all done CDing?

I ordered some cute purple with daisy print OS diapers just a few days ago and they are already here. Tell me they aren't stinken cute!

OWOH giveaway

Photo

It's that time of year again and I am super excited to announce that once again I am
participating in One World One Heart...

It is a GREAT way to meet lots of other blogger friends AND enter a chance
to win some of their work!

Check out all of the details here

This year I am giving away a super cute little hat I made
sorry about the awful picture...I will take a better one once the sun comes out

I call it "little green riding hood"

It got the idea for an adult hat on one pretty thing a while back but thought it would look just as cute on a little kid.

I love how long it is so that your little ones ears are always covered:o)

So...if you would like to win this hat just leave me a super cute comment.
Make sure to leave your email address if you don't have a blog of your own.

The giveaway ends February 15th and a random number will be picked at that point.

Thanks everyone and good luck!

*Giveaway is closed! Congrats #11!!

Crafty week

I shared with a few posts back that I have been working on a few crafts...

Here is Coopers super hero cape. I changed the fabric colors to solids so you could see it better. I will take more pics of him in it on Saturday when he TURNS 3!

The second attempt at the dollhouse/barn turned out great. It's not exactly done yet and is in need of some barn doors but this is what I have accomplished thus far...I hope that my nephew will like it.

I had some left over yarn from another craft I am working on so I figured I would make the girls matching head bands. They turned out super cute...except Kylie didn't want to model her's for me.

Next week (Monday to be exact) is OHOW. I have my TWO giveaways all ready to go but I cannot share those with you until next week.

10 Random thoughts

1. I have had the crafty itch this week. Here is my current project for Coop Dog. It's a super hero cape. I think I will end up buying some felt for the letters...I will post a pic when I am finished.2. Although I love the snow in December, I am not a big fan of it past then. Snow can be cool if a)it is warm enough to send the kids out to play in it AND b) it isn't too warm so that the melted snow creates a huge mud pile in the yard.

3. Today is my mom's birthday, next Saturday is COOPER'S 3rd birthday and it's also Jocelyn's birthday.

4. Speaking of Jocelyn...look what my darling friend sent me in the mail today.
5. Did you know that One Heart One World starts in 10 days!!! I have my giveaway all ready to post. Oh, you don't know what OHOW is??? click on the link on my side bar and it will tell you all about it. I participated last year and sadly did not win anything, but it is super fun to visit all of my fellow crafty peoples blogs to see what they are up to!!

6. It is bed time for the small people RIGHT NOW...so I will be right back.

Okay, I'm back....

7. I think I may be painting this weekend...yes, painting. I would really love to paint the office but since there is a hole in the wall of the bathroom (from the toilet paper dispenser which some little person thought was a handle bar) I need to paint!

8. One of my phone's broke yesterday. It will not charge. I think there is some sort of curse on all electronics in our household. Our washer has been a headache for a while now and we are now recommending that you NEVER by a he washer. It is taking up to two hours to wash one load of laundry and likes to eat our socks. We have had a someone come out to fix it a few times now and this last guy said that the design is awful. Thank goodness for Best Buy's service plan!! That's all I will say...because I know you all care so much

9. I am also 90% positive we will be homeschooling for kindergarten in the fall. Both nervous and excited about it. We need to find some more homeschooling friends to keep us busy.

10. Oh...I have lost 5 pounds so far. My goal for January was 5 so hopefully I will exceed my goal this month!

and a bonus....

11. Bad news..My husband just informed me that we are ALMOST out of my favorite liquor...Bacardi Limon. Good news...he was able to make me a drink with some cranberry sierra mist.

What I want to buy my kiddos....

Wouldn't this look adorable in my playroom?

I think my kids would just love this. They are into imaginative play right now and this would make a great addition to my playroom. BUT....it is way to pricey for a kids toy. Even though they both have a birthday (and I cannot justify buying Cooper something pink) it will have to wait until we are rich some day!

Anyways...just thought I would share with you my wish list for my kiddos..

Do YOU know what today is?

Some of you know that we have started to think about homeschooling.

Before you say it, YES, I know how difficult it can be and YES, I know how regimented one must be to make it work and YES, we live in a great school district...

BUT

Did you know that mama's should be with their little ones until they are at least 8 years old? AND did you that the teacher that will be teaching your little one has 20+ other students who are all learning at a different speed? AND did you know that children are the most impressionable in their elementary years? AND did you know that we are Christians and really want God to be a part of our daily "learning" time?

Okay, so I said it. Those are some of the reasons why we are considering it.

That being said, we have started to implement a daily schedule of "learning" time. I ordered curriculum through Little Acorn Learning (THANKS SARAH) and have started using it on a daily basis along with some of my own stuff. Kylie and Cooper love it so far (as does mommy). I will let you know how it all pans out over the next few months.

Here is our room right now...it will be painted in the spring...probably yellow with a nice cork board on the wall.

Well TODAY we learned that IT IS THE 12TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS.

We decorated kings (and queens) crowns to celebrate when the wise men came to visit baby Jesus. The cirriculum talk about making a cake but due to our allergies (and mommy's lack of GF products in the pantry) we made cheese crackers...with our crowns on of course.
I am going to share with you all the recipe because my SIL shared it with me just yesterday and it has been a HUGE success in both of our households.

4 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded
4 tablespoons butter, softened
2/3 cup rice flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon xanthan gum
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3 tablespoons milk
  • Preheat oven to 400.
  • combine all ingredients except milk in bowl. mix until mixture resembles a fine crumb. add the milk and beat well.
  • on a greased baking pan roll out dough to 1/8 inch thickness. cut into 3/4 inch squares (I used a pizza cutter) or other shapes if you desire.
  • prick tops with fork and bake for 10 minutes (I cooked for 15 minutes for extra cruchiness)
Now I like to give credit where credit is due but I HAVE NO IDEA the name of this book. I just have a copy of the page. Once I find out (from my SIL) I will let you know.

This is what Cooper thought of them....
and just because I have a picture of all my other children, I felt I should include one of my little "clapper" Addy....

I'M ALIVE

Sorry...

Things have been crazy here. Even though Christmas is over, I have been making lots and lots of goodies.

You ask why?

Well we have entered birthday season.

My mom's is the 15th, Cooper's is the 23rd along with my BFF's, My nephew's is the 16th of Feb and Kylie's is the 17th.

I will give you a sneak peak at a few of the gifts I am making. I already finished the doll house but I didn't get a picture of it yet.

From the dollhouse tutorial, I am making a barn for my nephew.

I am also crocheting a few hats (one for my sister which I didn't finish in time for Christmas) and one for myself. This is a super easy pattern and I LOVE IT!

My mom and Jocelyn are getting a great gift that my SIL is making! I cannot wait to show you all this nifty (did I just say nifty?) item. She is hopefully going to start selling them soon as well..

Let's see...what else is going on. Oh ya..I decided to try and loose a few of these baby pounds. have 3 kids in 4 years really does your body in. It's time to get rid of a quarter of me. So far, I have managed to exercise for three days in a row. YEAH. I'll keep you posted!
