And the pressure is on

I am totally nesting. Not sure if it is because I am worried this baby will not be prepared for or if I am just a nut! Right now the baby doesn't have a room...well it has a room...but with no windows or electricity! The window SHOULD go in soon and then we can get working, but until then, I am stuck with this NEED to prepare for the little ham! To make myself feel better, today I pulled out the changing table and necessities the baby will need if he/she comes early. The bassinet is now free of clutter and baby clothes and cloth diapers are all washed and ready for wear! While doing this, the kids thought it would be fun to "take a ride" in the baby car seat! I am impressed with how well this has held up over the years. It still looks brand new. Now...Kylie was only in it for four months, but Cooper was in there pretty much the whole first year. No stains, scratches, and no broken pieces! I am recommending this baby to all new mom's!! Here are some pics of the "big babies" acting like little ones!

No, Cooper is not sneezing...this is his new "cheese face".

*In case you were wondering...it is a Graco snugride car seat and NO I am not getting paid to write about this!

On another completely unrelated note: MY COFFEE MAKER BROKE. You know...this one! The one which has provided me endless cups of delicious coffee! For some reason it decided that it no longer wants to push the coffee through the little K-Cup but instead back up! Water will run fine through it, but no coffee! I have no regular coffee so I had to drink my fair share of Coke today instead...it just doesn't compare! I called Keurig to see what they could do for me and they transferred me to the "technical department" for further "evaluation". I kindly explained that I have two absolutely crazy children running around and there was no way I was going to be able to take the thing apart on the phone without 100,000 interruptions! I will add that the lady on the phone was almost impossible to understand and not because she was foreign. A basic proper English class would be a great thing for her...but I digress. Now I sit here...completely insane with nesting, sleepless nights, and cranky children with NO COFFEE! Pray for me friends..pray!

*UPDATE*
It's fixed! YEAH YEAH YEAH! It was a clogged nettle in case you were wondering! They EMAILED me back this afternoon after playing phone tag with them for a while! COFFEE FOR ME!

just a few Easter pics...

This year we spent Easter AT HOME! My mom came to visit and Zach's parents came for dinner! The kids had a great time (eating candy) visiting with family and the day ended with a MUCH needed early bed for everyone!

Counting up her cash...

Cooper checking out the goods.
Looking for Easter Eggs

Kylie in her dress made by her Grandma (Gee-Gee)

The best one I could get of the little wiggle worm
So...the kids look great, but Zach and I look like we had a few too many before this pic
Look what Zach taught Cooper to do...how cute!

Our new play set

So, yes, it took more than a few hours to put together, but WOW was it worth it. This baby just doesn't compare to the whole twisted piece of metal we had growing up. The kids love it and Cooper has even gone down the slide HIMSELF a few times. Kinda scary for this mommy being that the platform is 5 feet off the ground, but he is pretty careful! The final picture will hopefully come this week. The guys have to get the roof on and the rope swing, but the kids have no idea!

Day one...yes that's snow you see

Day two...no snow and ALMOST done!

UPDATE: IT'S DONE!

Kara's comments on sleep

Sleep! According to the Wikipedia: Sleep is the natural state of bodily rest observed in humans and other animals. In humans, other mammals, and a substantial majority of other animals that have been studied (such as some species of fish, birds, ants), regular sleep is essential for survival. The purposes of sleep are only partly clear and are the subject of intense research.

Dear friends, I am now in the final trimester of pregnancy which tends to leave me in a state of permanent start of sleepiness. Not only do I try and go to bed as SOON as possible at night, my dear husband has been gracious enough to let me "sleep in" on the weekends. For example: Last night I hit the hay around 9:00 and was able to "sleep" until 8:18 this morning. Now before you go getting all jealous, know that this sleep is interrupted at least every two hours by a bathroom visit or pesty back issue. I also try and take a brief nap while my children are napping during the day. With all of this "sleep" you would think I would be perky and ready to take on the world....ummmm not so much. I truly feel as thought I haven't slept in a good 48 hours at the present moment, but have drank too much caffeine to actually fall asleep. No judging..pregnant people CAN drink caffeine...and pregnant mamas with two small children are absolutely allowed to drink more than 2 cups a day if necessary!

But I digress...

How come all of the pregnancy books tell us expecting mama's to get as much sleep as possible before the baby comes. Don't they know we are going to try and torture ourselves with this expectation? To be honest with you, I tend to feel more rested after the baby comes!! My children have trained me to be wide awake in the wee hours of the morning and with a baby all you have to do is feed it while sleeping! How great is that? So lets just hope that this dear baby of mine will be a good eater and sleeper so this mama can FINALLY get some rest! And for all of you who would like to sue the publishers of those darn baby books for unnecessary anxiety over sleep, I will totally join in the cause!

Oh and don't you just wish you could fall asleep anywhere, anytime you were ready for a nap? The picture above was taken of Cooper a few weeks back after he protested the daily nap. He literally fell asleep sitting up while everyone was talking and eatting! CRAZY huh? I wish I could just put my head down on this computer desk and close my eyes!!! Not gonna happen though.

And now the monitor calls me to go get Cooper up from his NAP!!!
